The Most Iconic Uniform in London

The Yeoman Warders, or 'Beefeaters', at the Tower of London are the Sovereign's Bodyguard, and their distinctive red and gold uniform is one of the most iconic symbols of British tradition and history. The uniform, with its intricate design and rich history, has been worn by these ceremonial guards since the reign of Henry VII in the 15th century. Yeoman Warder Amanda Jayne (AJ) Clark made history in 2017 as the second female Beefeater. She has donated her uniform worn during Queen Elizabeth II's reign to the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection, where it will be displayed in Dress Codes at Kensington Palace. The display will offer visitors a glimpse into the history and significance of this legendary uniform, which represents centuries of British heritage and royal service
